
Santosh Dass MBE is a Director of Kaur Lab UK CIC and a nationally recognised advocate for equality, human rights and social justice. She is Chair of the Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance and has led UK-wide efforts to challenge caste-based discrimination for over two decades. Santosh brings deep policy, legislative and advocacy experience shaped by senior roles within central government. Her work is rooted in justice, dignity and structural change.

Santosh was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2007 for her services at the Department of Health. The honour recognises her contribution to public service, policy development and legislative improvement, and her wider commitment to equality and human rights in the UK.
Santosh spent many years in senior roles across central government, concluding her Civil Service career at the Department of Health in Whitehall. In 2013, she left public service to focus full-time on voluntary campaigning for social justice. She co-founded CasteWatch UK and the Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance, and served as the first woman President of the Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations UK for a decade. Santosh has been central to national efforts to outlaw caste-based discrimination and advance the legacy of Dr B. R. Ambedkar. She is also an established author and co-editor of Ambedkar in London (2022).
